manwithnoname Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 After reading a lot of positive reviews about their products, I picked up some Adam’s Premium Wax and Polishing supplies this weekend. While I do not have a ton of experience detailing cars, I’ve been washing and waxing my Challenger for just about 2 years now, and I feel confident echoing the thoughts of others that the Adam’s products are high quality and very easy to use. I purchased the following items: · Adam’s Americana Paste Wax (includes Premium Wax and Glaze Applicator) · Adam’s Brilliant Glaze · Adam’s All-Purpose Cleaner · Adam’s Super VRT · Adam’s Microfiber Towel · Adam’s Hex-Grip Fine Applicator I’ve looked high and low for “the best” wax for a silver car since I know that Silver is quite difficult (many say impossible) to get an amazing polish out of, and to be honest, even since the day I bought my “Bright Silver Metallic” daily-driver Challenger, I’ve always felt like my 2010 should have been labeled something closer to “Sometimes shiny, but most of the time a very light gray with metallic flakes”. So anyway, I was looking for a polish/wax/miracle that would give my car that glossy and shiny look that I usually see from the high-impact colors on other Challengers. From the research I did, Adam’s Americana Paste Wax seemed to fit the bill. After washing and Clay-barring my car (the All-Purpose Cleaner made my wheels and wheel wells look like they were brand new!), I used the Bright Glaze over the whole car, using the Hex-Grip Fine polish applicator (I should have used the Premium Wax and Glaze applicator, but forgot to pick up an extra one while at the local speed shop). Using a laptop in the garage to watch Adam’s high-quality instructional videos, I used the Brilliant Glaze over the entire painted body, ignoring the black plastic trim and glass, but laying it onto the flat black stripes. Using a new microfiber towel, I removed the glaze with no issue. At that point the car already looked amazing. It had a highly reflective and very wet look. I loved it. (The following pictures of my car in the driveway were taken just after the car was had the Glaze applied. No wax or Super VRT added yet.) Next I applied the Americana Paste Wax on the car, and wheels, ignoring the stripes, and removed the residue with the Adam’s fiber towel. Of all of the waxes I’ve used, Adam’s wax came off so easy with no mess whatsoever. This alone was worth the price of admission for me. From what I can tell, the wax gave a much needed level of depth to the silver paint when viewed from certain angles, and gives off a great glow in direct sunlight. Once the wax was removed, I started adding the Super VRT to most of the black trim pieces and to my tires. All I can say is they should probably charge more for this stuff. It made my slightly-dull looking black trim come back to life. Maybe it’s the black trim on the silver car, but the black parts of my car now pop out dramatically, most notably the rocker panels. This now-amped up high-contrast color scheme looks great since silver is sometimes considered a “boring” color. The only plastic parts I didn’t put the Super VRT on is the black plastic surrounding the headlight assembly, and the black plastic surrounding the tail-lights. I didn’t have time to try that out, and to be honest, not having read of anyone doing that, I was a little wary of how it would look. Where I did feel I took a “chance” was on the rubber trim surrounding the driver side and passenger side doors. The Super VRT gave this a dark gloss shine, which some people might not like, but again, it made it stand out and look brand new. Applying the Super VRT made my tires (which have about 20k miles on them) look brand-new as well. I put about 100 miles on the car today, and they still look new. They didn’t seem to have attracted any dirt or dust! I did not apply the Super VRT to my flat black R/T stripes yet, but I definitely plan to after seeing what it did to flat black stripes on the Adam’s demonstration video online. The pictures at the Mission and on the road are after the wax and Super VRT were applied. Sorry for the extreme pictures, it was a super-bright yet hazy day, so I’ve tried to post as many different ways that the car reflected, shined, and glowed in the different lighting conditions. Sorry for the long post, but basically, I think this stuff is great. I suggest trying it out if possible! One other quick thing I wanted to mention was that I had been emailing Adam’s quite a bit last week seeking guidance, asking opinions, and inquiring about the different products, and I have to say that their customer service is top notch! Every one of my questions scattered through my long-winded emails were answered, and I really appreciated that. It’s a rare trait for a company these days! Next up I’m gonna start polishing using their machine polishes and a Cable Porter 7424. I honestly expect even better results since my car hasn’t been polished. Hope this helps! Manwithnoname

Manwithnoname If your paint reacts to polishing with the PC like my white (no less) Honda fit did you will be more then pleased! Polishing just takes it to a whole new level!!
Chobbs Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Gonna correct my paint this weekend and was trying to decide if I should go with the sealant or the brilliant glaze and Americana combo. I think the latter will give me the Most instant gratification! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
