I actually thought of this question after watching Dylan's recent wash video. I don't have a truck, but whenever I'd help my brother wash his, it was always a pain getting all the water out of the bed to dry it since it always seemed to pool up. Now he has a tonneau cover so it's not as big a deal.

I have a plastic bed liner in my truck that gets pretty beat up from hauling stuff so I don't see the point of detailing my trucks bed.

My truck is a TRUCK, right now there's a little bit of mulch, dirt, and a couple of nails in it. There's also about 4 ratchet straps laying back there. In a week, I'll be using it to put in the watercraft at the lake.

I had it line-x'd for that reason.

My last truck I built was a Bagged Show Truck and the center section of the bed drew a lot of attention because of the custom fabrication and powder coating so I always washed, Polished & Waxed the inside of the bed everytime I did the rest of the truck.

I think so many people now days either have the bed Line X or put a Cover on it so they don't have to worry about the maintenance or look of the bed which I completely understand also, but to me the bed is painted like the rest of the truck and deserves to be taken care of to, I do it even on my lowered daily driver.

soo...because MY truck doesn't have a bed full of random filth and junk...it's NOT a "truck?" We use our rides based on our personal requirments for them and mine isn't required to be a u-haul or dump truck.;)

Did I say it wasn't? I just use my truck for its intended purpose. I don't haul loads of mulch in the trunk of my car because it's not its intended purpose.

We see VERY few trucks that are lowered here. We see more pulling trailers, hauling anhydrous tanks, and doing what they were intended to do. I don't fault anyone for making their vehicle theirs! I just use mine for what it was designed to do.

I didn't mean for that comment to be taken so personally! :o:patriot:

Oh dude... c'mon... I'm here. :D

Once its line-x's it'll get a diluted APC and fender brush cleaning each wash, then I'll dress it with some 1:1 SVRT 'milk'

The Av's bed was sealed so it didn't get dirty, but it was plastic and rubber lined so every so often I'd pull the caps, blast it out and do the same process.

Right now I'm not really bothering with the bed b/c it'll be scored and then sprayed in the next week.

I've never left a bed 'raw' so paint care there is another animal. Any intention of coating or doing something in there or are you going to leave it painted?

If you like using your truck for what you use it for, GREAT! Don't take what I said so personally...

i'm not :) it's all good, yo

i just get lines like that ALOT around here. driving a dropped truck...in SOUTH TEXAS...tends to being out the anger in the more....country....Citizens.

Couldn't even count how many times drunken rednecks have told me...with rage all over there dirt covered, sun-burned faces...how i RUINED a perfectly good truck. usually pointing to some lifted 4wd truck as an example, "THAT's what a truck should be! that's a REAL TRUCK!!"

Yeah? Those "real trucks" see less offroading than my dropped street truck and are every bit as much as "street queens" as toyota corollas  i ruined MY truck? it's better built for it's enviorment than thier "real trucks" are :burnout:

LOL ok...end random off-topic tangent hahahahahaha

Your truck looks great. It just couldn't be a DD here in IA sitting that low.

I must say, Line-X is the BOMB! I've had it on since late 1997 and couldn't be happier with it.

The bed in my truck gets washed out a few times a year, wether it needs it or not. I have a rubber bed mat (for our since departed Lab) and a soft tonneau, so unless a bag of mulch or sand break open, it gets treated like a truck bed.

Is that a near future plan, or an "I'll get to it eventually" plan?

Reason I ask is if its going to happen soon I say don't bother with anything other than occasionally wiping the bed down after hosing it out. No point in keeping the bed all 'puuuurty' if you're just gonna rip it out.

I do but not too often since I have a cover on it. I put some SVRT on the bed liner to shine it up and get rid of water marks.

I would never put anything like dirt or mulch in mine. Mainly because I don't trust that kid driving the tractor that hasn't graduated high school yet not to hit my truck with the bucket. My bed gets used to store tools in Plano Boxes

lol...

I've had them dump it in with a skid steer, and toss bags into it. This is the reason my truck isn't corrected. I don't want to worry about the little things all the time. It's also WHITE!

I'd be more impressed if you detailed between the bed and cab!!:lolsmack:

I washed and waxed it before I put the Bed Rug in it!

who voted for the last option? LOL and lets see a pic!

Now if my bed looked this I would have chosen the last one!

I couldn't imagine having to do the bed. I agree that if it were painted and it was a show truck, I'd be treating it like the rest of the vehicle. My truck now has a factory spray in liner (much like Line X) that is fairly easy to keep "clean."
