More suds with pads?

I own the jumbo and normal pads. I also own the wash mit. The pads I only use during the winter and on customers cars. However i noticed yesterday that the wash pads provide way more suds while washing the car down. Where as the mit you hardly get any.

Can anyone confirm this or tell me why this is?

Notice the Mitt has longer hairs, and are natural, animal hair.

The pads are synthetic, and I think this is where the super suds-i-ness comes out.

Wasn't there a thread about the natural oils in the wash mitt causing less suds? And if you wash the mitt with APC once be fore using, it removes the oils and all is good?

Or was I just having yet another Adam's dream? :lolsmack:

Yes!

Clean the animal with some APC and the suds will be MUCH better.

I used mine and sent Dylan an email about it. I never thought that the mitt would still have oils in it.

Yep... if its never (or hardly) been used its possible it still has some of the natural oils from the animal in the fibers and for whatever reason that seems to kill the 'suds'.

Try soaking in a mixture of APC and water or just spraying with APC, hand scrubbing, and rinsing very well prior to your next use. Mine has gotten LOTS of use and it is indistinguishable from the synthetic pads as far as how much it suds.

Interesting, so even after the mit has been used for 20+ washes and had taken a ride in the washer it still would have oils in it?

I will try the APC trick when I get home.

I wouldn't suggest putting those in the washer. Those hairs can get damaged by all the heat and abuse from the machine and dryer.

If its never seen a degreaser... possibly. Our soap isn't going to pull the oils out.

It was the same for me when I first got the mitt. But

After a few washes and doing the

Reccomended "wash mitt" cleaning method(spray with APC, scrub, and rinse from the center out) it

Suds up great now.
