Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Ok, finally no rain on my day off. First full detail of the car/engine/interior as well as clay bar and polishing about to start. It is 0615 and hopefully I should be done today. I will be taking pictures...WISH ME LUCK.
DaveVY Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Well I did it!! Nine hours later, and the Machine Super Sealant is curing. I have a feeling I may have used too much, and am going to be in for a workout removing it..haha Ummm.... just to be clear... did you remove the Machine Super Sealant after just a few minutes? If not, it will be a major pain to remove later.
Isaacrn Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 TY all for your comments. I am so sore waking up this morning..haha
Court M3 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Looks great! Damn TX heat must have been a killer? ha
needham Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 thanks. I been looking for a good pic of carbon black met, I know its lighter than Onyx Black. I was kinda hoping yours was that color, thanks for clearing it up.
Isaacrn Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 A lot of pictures...the pictures are basically start of the day..and proceed to the finished product.
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Ill get some more up after a bit, but this is the best shot, with an iPhone. My Nikon wasn't doing the car justice
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 i removed it after 30 minutes, and it just wiped off. I didn't have any issues with it at all. i followed the instructions on the bottle that said to let it sit on the car for 30 minutes and then wipe down
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 It was a porter cable. Let me tell you that the El Paso wind and dirt are a pain in the ARSE. I had the garage open to cool me down on the fine polishing, and BAM, the wind picks up and coats the car in dust/dirt. Needless to say I almost had a stroke. Im about to wipe off the sealant then work on the pictures First i need to fix the windows though. I think the interior will have to wait till tomorrow
Integrity Detailing, LLC Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Can't wait to see the pictures. Did you use a PC or FLEX? You'll never get all the scratches out with a PC. 90% is great for a daily drinker. Most people don't even realize that fine swirls. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
gencoupe3dot8 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 :worth: Pics or it didn't happen... and of course we need before and afters... with the mirror money shots (in the sun) at the end!

I have a feeling I may have used too much, and am going to be in for a workout removing it..haha Sadly, the job is not 100% as when I put the halogens on it, i could see some fine swirls, but overall I am proud of myself. It was a good job, and took a lot of time. I would say the paint is about 90% swirls/scratch free. The sad thing about this is my new car has a great deal of paint dents from flying debris. We had a bad sand storm, and it really threw some rocks at the car that made some impressions. Did I mention what a pain in the butt the front end of the camaro is? Perhaps some 4" pads would be beneficial there. Ill get some pictures up as soon as I wipe down everything. Boy am I tired. BTW, I have a great deal of learned respect for those of you that do this for a living.
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 By the way, thank God for not having to. Wipe down the haze off the swirl flashing. Haha
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Well the swirl and haze remover step is 90% done. I just need to front end. I am pooped. The mere thought of still doing a fine polish andachine super sealant has me almost to tears. Haha. My back is killing me.
Integrity Detailing, LLC Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 If it gets very warm the polish will flash very quickly (maybe even after 2-3 movements of the polisher). You may have to reapply polish more often than normal. After you apply polish to the pad three times, mist the pad with DS and work the next section to help flush the polish out of the pads. Save the for after your done.
Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Well I'm done claying and washing. I detailed the engine too. I put the car in the garage and am going to eat lunch quick then get back at it. The big problem I had was with my crappy (new) hose that kept kinking on me. Really pissed me off. Every time i went to wash something water would cut off. I need to read the boards for a good hose recommendation.

Isaacrn Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 First wash and claying is about done. The sun is coming up and drying the detail spray. I am worried about starting the polishing or even doing a deco wash with the sub drying things out
