twb4525 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 hey guys, i am going to put my summer wheels on this weekend. just wanted to know if i can use the machine super sealant applied by hand to add some protection to them? (i do not have any adam's metal polish, or americana. i do have buttery wax) thanks - tom
BlueGenCoupe Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I Don't know how spray sealant would react to chrome...but I would say just get some metal polish1 & 2
Chase@InsanePaint Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I'd say MP 1&2, followed by quick sealant?? Quick sealant works amazing on almost any coated surface if I'm correct??
egott_91 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I used quick sealant on my dads '96 SS chrome wheels followed by some glaze for that extra pop since the car never gets driven.
MichiganSRT8 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 quick sealant ftw, just did a car with a set of chrome and came out great!
twb4525 Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 i've got a can of the quick sealant. will try it this weekend. thanks!
swexlin Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 At the Adam's clinic I went to at Thompson, Ashley herself demonstrated quick sealant on my Viper's wheels, which are clear-coated polished aluminum. Really made 'em pop. Or maybe it was her technique.... Hey, whatever, if an attractive woman wants to demonstrate a product on my car, she can go right ahead! I was so impressed, I bought a can. Have yet to try it on the 07 Superbee wheels, which are almost identical.
Team Adam's Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Quick Sealant will provide durable protection on ANY non-porous surface so chrome, paint, aluminum, powdercoat, etc all can be treated and protected with it. On porous surfaces the product won't stain, discolor, or leave a residue so you can get sloppy with the application near your wheels without fear of it making them look chalky or anything.
THE Mook Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I'm with everyone else...QS all day. That should also help you with cleaning. You may need only a car shampoo mixture and the Wheel Woolies, And Turbostick, instead of GWC and said tools, Which will help the durability of the QS. Mook
Rich Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 The Quick Sealant sure helps with the brake dust issue on the Vette. I've noticed a lot less sticking and when I wash it, the dust comes right off.
Ironterp Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I'm getting ready to get a new set of wheels for the summer soon also. They've been on back order forever. Would it be better (longer lasting) to coat the inside of the wheels with MSW by hand I think i saw someone do that a while back or should i just hit them with quick sealant?

The MSS will last longer, but on wheels I don't know how much longer. The issue with MSS applied by hand is getting the coat thin enough to be able to get it to buff off! I know several forum members have done this, so hopefully they chime in.

THE Mook Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 The brake dust just kills me! Gonna have to try QS on my wheels. QS helps a ton on the wife's car, on the inside barrel, and also the face of the wheel, when it comes to dusting.
