Smooooth Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 New guy checking in. Just took delivery of my Porter Cable 7424XP. My primary interest is going to be working on motorcycle parts. My search continues for 4" pad systems and compounds. I do have several questions and will most likely post them AFTER I search the forum. Thank You Stephen
mc2hill Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Welcome Stephen! Adam's offers the Adam's FOCUS 4" Polishing Pad Kit and the pads are sold separately too. They also have some great metal polishes - Adam's Metal Polish 1 & 2 Combo and a 4" pad for metal. The 4" pads can be used on your PC or on a drill.

Rich Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Welcome Stephen. I have a feeling that you'll get the results you're seeking from Adam's..........and then you'll be hooked. Welcome to the forum. :welcomebanner:
Smooooth Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 Thank you all for the warm welcome. My plans are to gain more experience shooting Base Coat/Clear Coat on bikes. I bought the PC thinking it was the safest move when buffing out after color sanding to at least 2500. Anything automotive will just be an added benefit. It seems as if the new 4th Generation has moved away for the Hex pattern. I just wish there were more videos out there that are specific to bikes. Once again, Thank You Stephen

mc2hill Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Image Test - Restoration Project Finished Holy way-back machine Batman! I begged my parents for one of these growing up, but since we lived 'in town' it was a no-go. We did have friends that lived in the country that had a QA50 and a Trail 70, so I did get to ride them a little.
Smooooth Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 The CT70 was the very first motorized 2 wheeler that I was ever given a ride on. Neighbor kid had one. I must have been about 6 or 7. Now at 53 I finally got my very own. 3 years and more money than I care to mention, BUT IT"S MINE!!! Getting ready to start another one for my wife - All Custom......
