New ride, truck is gone, and my first black car in YEARS

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I finally decided to downsize the truck for something a little more practical. Seeing as I dont even use the truck like a truck. Ive been doing a lot of trips lately and can never use my truck. The payment has always been high due to having to sell the evo when I couldnt drive stick at the time after a bad car accident I was in three years ago. So now with gas prices always on the high side and the payment I really was burdened down with the truck. Also when Im done with school in another few months I dont want to be blowing all my money on a high car payment and something that gets 12-13 mpgs. So I downsized to a brand new Chevy Cruze Eco with a 6 spd manual. Dropped my payment $200 and my insurance $40. So far in town driving I'm at 32 mpgs. I kept a few things to sell from the old truck. They gave me a grand over what kkb said plus the tax savings on the trade of almost 2k. Its the same dealer my grampa worked at back in the 80's and the guy he worked with then son now runs it. So we always get a great deal all around. Some garage shots for now, enjoy:rockon:

nice looking Cruze! A lady I work with has one and the time I have been in it is seemed like a real nice little car. I am sure you will be saving tons on gas

Ya I was shocked how well it road. Handles great and trans is like butter. Has different suspension than the standerd Cruze and about an inch lower. Ive been watching Fuelly and TrueDelta for a while and people get in the 50's all the time. The nice thing is I still have my bike if I want something sporty. That also gets decent mpgs in the 30s.

My car is for driving and my R6 is my toy for sporty driving, pound threw some twisty turns then give the bike some juice on the straight and have a great time! Then get in the montecarlo and get where I have to go lol. And I feel sorry for you buying black :jester:

Nice ride! Congratulations. My neighbor has the same one in a nice red. Unfortunately he hasn't washed it since he bought it last year. Hopefully you will keep yours up better than he does. I love the black. Good choice :D

i really like the new cruze, everytime i travel this is the car i request. you made the right choice, people shouldn't drive trucks who don't use it for what its made for! i didn't get an extended cab for the small rear seat legroom! that extra foot in the bed has come in handy a few times.

so whatchya sellin' from your truck?!?

Kept that PTM front grill in the blue granite and that used hypertech tuner. Was trying to take off the volant but couldnt find my stocks stuff to swap it with. Was told to leave the hard folding tonnau on there from my family but I'm mad now that we did. I did get more than KBB wanted for it. I'm happy how it turned out.

Nice! Every time I see one of these I can't help but think of the commercial that takes place at a retirement home and the elderly people are shutting "Eco, Eco, Eco!" it's hilarious!!

haha, I like the one where people just purposely have no where to go and drive around and around due to the high mpgs.

Thanks, My only two black cars were beaters haha. One was a 92 ranger splash way back in like 97' 98' and a $2k zx2 escort I bought like 5 years ago with 130k on it already. haha I have the new car curse of rain. Whole time buying it thursday it POURED.

You means the Camaro uses the Cruze steering wheel. A epic fail on GM side IMO. I like my 2010 steering wheel despite what others think. Sorry didn't mean to jack the thread. Nice Cruze!

I loved the Cruze when I test drove it before buying the GMC, I was almost going to buy it but decided on the GMC, still GM though :) It's such a nice car with a beautiful and comfortable ride, plus the turbo is not bad at all especially with the manual

I never understood why people buy pick up trucks if they weren't in construction or hauling things. You made the right choice getting rid of it.

Congrats on the new purchase. The Cruz is a great little car. A friend of mine has it and she LOVES it

here in Texass if we're not ridin' our horses, we're driving our trucks. :lolsmack:

seriously, more people own trucks here than anything else, and i bet 80% of them never even stepped in the bed!
