I'll add to Mook's input by saying use a fresh applicator for applying the SVRT to the white walls.

The dressing itself isn't black, but the vulcanized rubber residues from traditional black wall tires as well as dirty from use. Trying to spread SVRT on white walls with a used app generally just makes a mess so be sure to use a fresh applicator.

Thanks for all the advice, I also read something about SOS pad on white letters wasn't sure if I could use on white walls too.

Yes you can and they work great, but I'd only do that if the APC and a brush doesn't work. The steel wool can be harsh on the rubber.

It's not nearly as good as APC and a brush, finished with SVRT. I know personally it's not. So does the lady at the ACD Museum now too. ;)

Once clean, here's a tip for the SVRT so as not to dirty the white walls back up with it's application:

I use 70% SVRT - 30% water mixed in a spray bottle. Spray the tires then wipe them to level/spread the product with a clean terry cloth towel. Works so well and using a new applicator each time I dress the white wall tires gets a bit expensive!
