694doorbird
Dylan, Those are great pictures!!! Here's one of an old DX station on the original Route 66 in Afton Oklahoma. It's now a museum, with a handful of cool cars tucked in the garage part.

Beemer
I love the shot with the kid jumping on the "dinger". When I was a kid my dad worked at an ARCO station (then it was an "Atlantic-Richfield" station) and I used to jump on the "dinger constantly. Fascinated me. mjhpadi
Gee, reminded me of pictures my dad had of my uncle's station in Indiana...I remember them talking and complaining about the cost of gas when it went from 6 gallons for a dollar all the way up to 5 gallons for a dollar. I had almost forgotten about the dingers that were activated by air pressure, the station I hung out at during high school had those...and gas was 24.9 cents per gallon...ahh, how times have changed. Chewy
You can still buy the "dingers" guys... We bought one not too long ago to let us know when people pulled into our lot at a house I rented in a previous single life...
DieselDude
I am not that old yet but still remember the local gas station, it had one of those "dingers". The old gas stations are like Mayberry.
70'sChevyGirl
Love those vintage pics with all the old pumps. Those were the days when a gas station was always full service.
