DaytonaJae
i'm traveling for business this week and my car is in the hands of the hotel's valet guys. The hotel has mandatory valet since its downtown and there are no public parking nearby. I'm going to have nightmares of them running the front lip onto a concrete parking block or a door ding from the car next to it or worse yet the infamous YouTube joyrides caught on tape. Anyone know of a discreet motion activated video cam system you can mount in your car for such a purpose?
Doug123
You can get a GPS broadcaster for the car, the kind you would use to track someone without their notice. You know, the magnetized kind...
LFairbanks
Something like this? I remember this story from a while back. Caught Spying on Student, FBI Demands GPS Tracker Back | Threat Level | Wired.com
savi01
One of those dash mounted cams that a lot of people are running these days could work as well. Just have it pointed at the drivers seat and on. I'm sure just seeing it there will scare anyone away from joyriding, and if they do mess it up somehow, you'll at least have a picture of the driver. Anyone know of a discreet motion activated video cam system you can mount in your car for such a purpose? When my car was brand new I went to a casino and parked by myself and walked what seemed like a mile. The next morning I had a big door dent:willy:I now use the valet and tell them my story. They told me if my car was damaged under their care they would pay. I now slip the valet drivers an extra $20 and ask them to take good care of it. At least the only ones opening doors next to your car are the valet drivers and not the inconsiderate people who just don't care. If your car is damaged it is pretty obvious who caused it Right? just my opinion but I think the car is safer in valet parking.
DaytonaJae
Thanks for the confidence. Its those darn YouTube videos that give valets a bad name I guess. Still my coworkers and I are nervous about both our cars.
BlueGenCoupe
I wouldn't worry. Any damage you find on the car, go straight to the hotel and complain...
