mikemc
Does anyone add a sealant to the underside of their hood? I was thinking that the quick sealant might work for this. Whats your opinion? Thanks, Mike...
0 Chris@Adams
Do you mean the underside of the hood itself?
0 mikemc
yes - the hood itself. I've seen vids on the engine compartment using vrt and in and out but the underside of my hood is mostly metal and I was thinking a sealant might make it easier to keep clean. 0 Team Adam's
You don't have the sound deadening matt on the underside of your hood?
0 mikemc
My taurus has some but also some exposed metal. I can't check right now but I think my 370z is mostly metal. I will verify though. Does anyone use a sealant or protectant for the hood underside?
0 Team Adam's
You can, but typically its not going to do you much good. The underside isn't going to get much more than just dusty in most scenarios, and a waterless wipe down between full cleanings is about all it would need. Not saying you can't seal those areas, but the benefit to doing so is negligible, especially when you consider the temperatures and how thats going to impact longevity. 0 Tim
I thought of this today too. C4s are bare fiberglass.
