SVRT and then rain

UberDuper

Question

So it wasn't 24 hours after I finished up the explorer and it started pouring. One thing I noticed is the SVRT had run off the trim and left streaks down the paint.

I had wiped all the trim with a microfiber after applying. Do I just need to wipe harder in the future?

You may have used too much product (a little goes a long way, especially with hard, non-porous plastics), or the trim may not have been clean before you dressed it. I've never had this problem with SVRT so maybe someone else can chime in.

Guess it's just hard to tell how much you've got one there. It's obvious if you have way too much but other then that I couldn't see a difference between treated and untreated trim. I'll try to be a little more stingy with it in the future.

Detail spray best way to get it off the paint?

Yup, mist a towel with Detail Spray and wipe off any that's gotten onto the paint.

If you can take a picture of the trim area that you're having trouble with we may be able to offer more input

Sorry gang, but this has more to do with the surface than anything else... some plastics just won't hold SVRT as well as others... My Gen coupe diffuser is one of those... I've cleaned the heck out of it, knocked extra off, etc, etc... and it will still run in the rain... it doesn't do this on the rubber bits, or some of the other trim, but the plastic on the diffuser just doesn't allow SVRT longevity... (IUS seems to work better). I have moved on to testing other products for this and the tires.... With the tires I have seen some longer staying power with a topping of QS...

Same thing happened to me, while I was putting some on my Silverado, the back glass that slides on the rear window the hard plastic above it. Rained 2 days later then I saw the streaks on my window, looked horrible.
