About to order, have some questions.

Question

Hello, I made a post a few days ago about buying an old Adam's kit off of ebay. I enjoyed the kit so much I am ready to purchase new products, direct from Adam's but have a few questions first.

I already have a porter cable 7424xp and I am ready to order these products.

Adam's Three Step Machine Car Polish Bundle

Adam's Porter Cable Polishing Pad Kit

Adam's Brilliant Glaze Machine Pad

Adam's Fine Machine Polish & Adam's Machine SuperWax Combo

Total of: $177.80 before shipping

This will give me:

Adam's Premium Porter Cable Backing Plate

Adam's All Purpose Cleaner 16 oz.

Adam’s Severe Swirl Remover Polishing Pad 7"

Adam’s Swirl & Haze Remover Polishing Pad 7"

Adam’s Fine Machine Polishing Pad 7"

Adam’s Brilliant Glaze Machine Pad 7”

Adam’s Machine Super Sealant & Wax Pad 7"

Adam's Swirl & Haze Remover Car Polish 16 oz.

Adam's Severe Swirl Remover Car Polish 16 oz

Adam's Fine Machine Car Polish 16 oz.

Adam's Fine Machine Polish 16 oz and

Adam's Machine Super Sealant 16 oz

I already have 2 buckets, both with grit guards, Adam's car wash soap, Adam's clay with spray detailer, Adam's VRT, Adam's Buttery Wax and a ton of high quality microfibers and applicator pads.

I would like to correct the paint on my 2008 BMW.

Is there anything else that I am missing before I go ahead and order this? I think I have everything but I would like some opinions.

I would like to do this: Should I get another black bad to apply the buttery wax, or can I just clean the one I used for the super sealant and use that for the buttery wax?

STEP 1 - Adam's Severe Swirl Remover

STEP 2 - Adam's Swirl & Haze Remover

STEP 3 - Adam's Fine Machine Polishing

STEP 4 - Adam's Machine Super Sealant

STEP 5-Adam's Brilliant Glaze

STEP 6- Adam’s Buttery Wax

Looks like you are doubling up on the FMP. I would suggest:

Adam's Machine Super Sealant Combo

Adam's Porter Cable Polishing Pad Kit

and

Adam's Basic Polishing Pad Kit

You will use more polishing pads than sealant or glaze pads during a correction. They will load up with product and 'gunk' so it is nice to be able to grab a fresh pad. The glazing pad is a 'nice to have' but BG applies so easily it is not really needed.

4" Kit will be needed at some point. Good advice on the juice from mc2hill.

Buttery isn't all that hard to apply by hand. If you must, buy a new pad for it. I wouldn't wait for the other one to dry.

I'd check out the Quick Sealant, mainly for the front and back end for touch ups once the car has been driving a while.

If he has MSS down, the QS is a bit redundant, and may not last as long.

I just realized I was doubling up with fine machine polish. When I added the machine super sealant and fine machine polish combo to my cart I just took a quick glance and thought it was brilliant glaze and super sealant combo.

Here is my new cart:

Adam's Porter Cable Polishing Pad Kit

Adam's Basic Polishing Pad Kit

Adam's Brilliant Glaze Machine Combo

Adam's Machine Super Sealant Combo

Adam's FOCUS 4" Complete Polishing Pad Kit for Porter Cable Polishers

This will give me:

Adam's Premium Porter Cable Backing Plate

Adam's All Purpose Cleaner 16 oz.(When I call the order in I want to see if I can pay $10 to make this a 36oz)

(2) Adam’s Severe Swirl Remover Polishing Pad 7"

(2) Adam’s Swirl & Haze Remover Polishing Pad 7"

(2) Adam’s Fine Machine Polishing Pad 7"

(1) Adam’s Brilliant Glaze Machine Pad 7”

(2) Adam’s Machine Super Sealant & Wax Pad 7" 2 Black pads, one to apply machine super sealant and one to apply buttery wax

(1) Adam's Swirl & Haze Remover Car Polish 16 oz.

(1) Adam's Severe Swirl Remover Car Polish 16 oz

(1) Adam's Fine Machine Car Polish 16 oz.

(1) Adam's Brilliant Glaze 16 oz

Everyone has been very helpful so far, I think I have it down now.

Thank you

You're on the right track, but keep in mind for this and future orders, you can never have enough Detail Spray and Waterless Wash and their appropriate microfiber towels. Seriously, buy a gallon of each as soon as you can. Maybe it's just because I have a truck, but I can go through a 16oz bottle pretty quickly. And "a guy I know" has had to stop part way through a detail to wash towels, and that sucks (or so I've been told).

4. Spray off the car

5. Iron X Trix the whole car to get tar, iron deposits, and other crud to loosen up

6. Wash using high quality mitt, go around the top of the car first, than the bottom of the car.

7.Blow out with leaf blower water in the cracks, than dry with high quality microfiber.

8. Using the speedy prep towel as a synthetic clay bar and infinite use detail juice and lube to remove all contamination from paint.

9. Wash car again using new mitt, soap, and water

10. Blow out and dry car again.

11. Use tuned performance tire and trim dressing and Adam’s spray dressing in hard to reach spots to restore shine to black trim and tires.

Than for paint correction use these products all with porter cable:

STEP 1 - Adam's Severe Swirl Remover

STEP 2 - Adam's Swirl & Haze Remover

STEP 3 - Adam's Fine Machine Polishing

STEP 4 - Adam's Machine Super Sealant

STEP 5-Adam's Brilliant Glaze

STEP 6- Adam’s Buttery Wax

(While waiting for the wax to haze I will clean all windows with a high quality window cleaner)

I would love input from the Pro's on here, help would be appreciated.
