Question

Hey guys quick question. I know certain(most) items shouldnt be stored in the cold. But what about working in the cold? Can i break out my porter cable and do a full paint correction when the temps are in the 30's and 40's?

Thanks!!!

In my garage it was around 50s when I did the correction on a cobalt ss and it came out just as well as when I did my subaru and it was 60/70s

It can be done, just that everything gets a little more difficult to work with. Polishes won't wipe cleanly from the surface as easily, work times may be affected, you may notice some more streaking.

Just like in really high temps, really low temps just change the way the chemicals behave so be patient and test/evaluate to see how things react.

I guess I shoulda noted that. It did take longer than it usually does for everything to be done right.

I seemed to have problems with my pads clogging below 36° and things did slow down a bit. Above 40° every thing seemed normal.

Similar to what I've seen as well. Although optimally over 50 seems best.

I noticed that as well. I ended up buying the pad brush and do an area use the brush and you can definetly tell the difference.

I just did a quick machine polish in ~45F def needed more detail spray to keep the polish workable, also kept the pad from clogging

since I just got my pc Jan 3, I don't think I have had a chance to work in temperatures above 50 :willy:
