Who Here Still Uses a Pencil?

I know this seems like a weird question. But in today's age, computers seem to be ruling the world. I get to use a pencil for the first part of my day Mon-Friday...and I enjoy still using one!

I use a pen commonly for 'dont forget to do this' post its, and random notes on blue line throughout the day. I use nice Gel .5 fine point (black and blue) pens. Take that pencil user!

I use the first part, but tossed the cil quite a while ago. They're for people who make mistakes.

Only for tests & drawing or when wood working.

Pencil? Hell yeah. 0.5 mm when keeping score (the old-school way, no iPad) for my son's baseball team. The only way to go...

There is a bar stool at the local watering hole that is off just a little. A pencil levels it perfectly.

 

Kidding, I don't use pencils much, or pens for that matter.

I occasionally use a pencil for figurin' n scribblin' but use a pen far more often. I use one pen every two weeks or so at the office. I also do all three Sunday Chicago Tribune crosswords in pen every Sunday.

I have a few carpenter's pencils around the garage and in my office; they're mostly for making marks on wood that I'm measuring to cut. But occasionally I'll jot down a note or do some simple math with one.

 

I don't think there's a pencil sharpener in out house anymore; I use a boxcutter to sharpen the aforementioned pencils.

I use one every day for taking notes in meetings, jotting stuff down, and sketching out code before I write it. I prefer a Staedtler mechanical.

At first I thought this might be a joke or something. Sadly I'm getting engineers fresh from school who seem to think they are obsolete tools also. Sometimes you need to sketch something out, or do some quick calcs.

I've got a cup full of pencils, right next to my mouse charger.

Hah, I just remembered, I have a hand drawn note reminding me to charge my mouse at night when it gets low so it will work the next day. So my pencil supports my mouse I guess.

Use one everyday. Although I'm still in high school. Sometimes I prefer a pencil over a pen. Seems my handwriting is better with a pencil.

Use a pencil when working with my kids and their homework, we even use colored pencils. Also use a fine point pencil for woodworking.

I use pens more than pencils.. at work I still use a pencil from time to time though..

My wife sells office supplies so we've always got lots of stuff at home to choose from. She uses a retractable pencil for all her notes, shopping lists etc. I hate them. Every time I try to use it I put too much pressure on it and the end breaks off. I use pen for everyday use, but I think she hides them all to tee me off.

Strictly pens for me! Insurance companies don't like applications written in pencil. I don't think there is even one in my office or co workers offices

I'll be honest, I find myself never writing with a pen or pencil

 

I use the computer for everything. Even when I ship stuff, I print all my labels. I can type a lot faster than writing.

I was always surprised to see me pick up a pencil to use. I use both pens & pencils.

I like scribble down notes for work etc. Use it when working around the house remodeling etc. I also draw a lot so yeah why not use a pencil still.
