Question about strip wash

In anticipation of my first correction, is it necessary to do a strip wash if I haven't waxed my car in about a year (I last used buttery). I've done maintenance washes about every 2 weeks with DS as a drying agent. Does DS need to be stripped or does it simply wash off the next time you wash your car? Thanks.

I would still do a strip wash, even though you haven't applied wax in a year. There can still be residual wax, especially on the sides of the car and the pH difference in the strip wash will also do a slightly better job of cleaning other debris from the surfaces.

I agree with Dave. Whenever I am going to be polishing I will always do a strip wash whether the car was waxed a week or 3 years ago.

 

It doesn't take long to add a couple ounces of APC to the wash bucket to turn the soap slightly acidic.
