Need suggestions

I used to use a soft sun visor. Well after a month or so it started leaving dust all over the dash. It seems to have melted to this piece of plastic on the dash. .

 

I've tried LIC and it did nothing. I'm nervous to try APC in that area.

 

Any suggestions? It's driving me absolutely crazy!

APC isn't going to hurt it anymore than it already is, but have you tried heating that area up with a blow drier or heat gun and scraping it off?

I haven't used any kind of heat on it. I'd rather not scape it if its not 100% necessary. If I have to I will though.

 

I'll give some APC a shot. Would it hurt letting it sit?

It's melted plastic on plastic right? It's a VERY small picture and hard to tell.

 

I'd be more tempted to let WD-40, Goo-Gone or 3M adhesive remover sit and then try to remove.

It's the dust or insulation that's inside those flexible sun visors. But it's hard as a rock now.

 

Goo gone never even crossed my mind.

I'd start with APC diluted by about half with water, and then if that doesn't do anything, go full strength. And as always, test in an inconspicuous area first.

 

An old toothbrush (or your wife's ) might be useful to break up that gunk, too.
