CMDChase
My buddy wants me to detail his 88 Grand National. It still has the original paint. Since the paint is so old, is there anything I should watch out for? Thanks in advance for your help.
0 BRZN
Unless it's been polished out before thinning the clear or you notice areas the clear is starting to lift no. Treat it just like new paint. He want to sell it? I might have a buyer...

You should be able to tackle it just like any other. They had pretty bad paint from the factory. Post some pictures if you get a chance. Here is a pic of a GNX I took a couple years ago. 0 Turbokid
Watch out when you do that car polishing it you will take all the paint off. They were NOT base coat clear cars.
