BMW Keyed :(

I have a buddy of mine who got his car keyed this AM.

I asked of he could see metal in the scratch he said no

but his nail does get caught in the scratch. Is it safe to say

the clear has been compromised? Not the best pic but its what he sent me. I just don't want to do more harm than good if it beyond anything I can do. I do not feel comfy wet sanding at all.

I would think you would need to wet sand that because it is probably through the clear. If it's not through the base coat, you just need a clear coat pen, probably 2000-2500 grit wet sand, then polish.

If its past the clear it has to be repainted. You could still try to buff out if you want. Wish you were by me I would help for free.

Thanks Guys, I asked him to look into Dr Color Chip and if its not good enough think about repaint.
