Question

Hi All,

Ok, so i just bought my first brand new car and want only the best for my new baby, (hence only Adams products will do)

I have watched all the videos but need a bit of clarification,

I know i go from wash to clay, re-wash, But then i get stuck.

My question is.... Can i go Quick Sealant..   Glaze.. then  Americana..

Also how often to i need to do the whole process and what would a general weekly clean consist of, What would your recommendations be

Thanks in advance

I had this same question last week. Was my first detail too. Here is what I did.

Wash

Detail spray and wipe down

Clay bar

Wash

Detail spray and wipe down

Sealant

Wax

Be prepared though my first took me hours. If you can use the Adams micro fibre you won't regret it.

"How often" really depends on need... Obviously a garaged car that is driven a few miles per week on good roads in a moderate climate going to need less weekly care than a one driven on a long commute every day in harsh weather and on dusty roads. A noted above, you can skip steps when they're not needed.

I personally clay and machine polish about once a year. Seal maybe 2x a year, then give the car a careful wash/dry every 2 or three weeks, and a coat of Americana after every 2 or 3 washes.

Oh, and Welcome to Adam's!

Just an FYI, it's a waste of product to do a detail spray wipe down after washing before claying. Just go straight into claying after the wash.

Thanks for all the replies,

By the looks of thing I don't really need a glaze between sealant and wax.

My ST will be a daily commute, garaged at night but open to the elements while at work.

I've spent around $1500 on my Adams orders, with extra micro cloths and drying cloths,

So looks like I'm on the right track

Thanks

if you can ask the car yard NOT to do anything to the car you want all the plastic on the car and seats.  My biggest mistake was letting them "detail" the car before i got it.  When the car yard did my car i was almost crying.  Grubby paw prints all over it.  Took me a whole weekend to get it clean.  That was before i even knew what Adams was.

Great advice, I will let them know, I was already planning to do a detail as soon as I drive it home, but if they detail then I would need to do a strip wash,

Would rather start with the good stuff from day 1
