Applicator differences

The question was brought up in another thread and I thought I would give its own.

What are the differences in the different colored foam applicators?

Are you talking about the Hex Grip applicators? The red and yellow (for wax, and or glaze )  are the same, just different color....the blue is for Revive.....

Also the americana and the yellow hex grip have different backing foams. 

 

The black is stiffer the blue backing is very soft... they both have pros and cons. 

 

The stiffer black backing definitely feels more substantial and I think is nicer to work with.

 

The blue on the back of the Americana app is a lot softer/more pliable so its easier to clean, and with things like glaze its a lot easier to squeeze the product back to the face of the app again where with the black foam it kind of just soaks in and doesn't come out. 

 

I think the americana app is slightly easier to clean as well.
