While working on the hood of the Suby I noticed the paint getting pretty warm to the touch. After a couple passes of SSHR, the surface temp showed about 120° using my trusty IR thermometer. This is in the garage and in the 50's outside, 60's inside.
So what kind of temp is OK, and when is it toasty enough to take a break or get out the ice water spray?

Paint wise, that is.
