Machine Super Sealant by hand

Hi all,

Today when polishing my backing plate split on the PC... already contacted Adams for a replacement.  However, I was stuck with about 3/4 of the car that hadn't received MSS after polishing.  Since I don't have any QS on hand, is it OK to apply MSS using the hand applicator for the rest of the car?  I know it isn't ideal in that the product is meant to be applied thinly by machine, but in this "emergency" situation will I be compromising the protection of the sealant by the hand application?

I don't think you will have an issue.  the machine helps b/c it lays it down evenly and not too thick.  doing it by hand, it may go on  thicker but you are still getting protection on the car...may just be harder than normal to remove and probably increases the hazing which could occur 24 hours after application

Shouldn't be a problem. 

Like you said, not ideal, but worst case is you have some uneven looking spots. That can easily be remedied by stripping those spots later and reapplying it once you get your replacement backing plate.
