0 paoutdoorsman
What's currently on the paint? You really want to apply sealant on a bare paint for best results.
0 Team Adam's
depends on if it needs it or not. hows the paint currently? rough or smooth? have you clayed recently? if so how long ago? brian81894
0 Chris@Adams
Do the baggie test, then you will have your answer. Rich and 07RS4
0 brian81894
I just got the truck and I don't believe it has ever been clay barred. The paint feels pretty rough.
0 davidg
Even some brand new cars need clayed. Sealant bonds to paint, not as well to contaminants.
0 Rich
Brand new? Clay it. There's probably a lot more contaminates on it than you realize. Take a plastic sandwich bag and put it on your hand. Now rub your hand over the paint on your car. Feel like little bits of sand? That's contaminates. Clay it. If it feels perfectly smooth, then just a good wash and then take it from there. 0 randyfox
Agreed. I detailed my good friend's new car last year and the paint required a thorough claying. Granted, the polishing process went quickly since it was new, but the amount of contamination was shocking.
