yea, its going to be more expensive than a ZL1 too.  I heard the new suspension setup is pretty awesome for the new z/28.  That bow tie raised the bar IMO

Looking up the Lexus LFA which I don't ever recall seeing one it does note that driver Akira has done the Nurburgring in 7:14.64 with street tires which is quite a bit faster than the 7:37.47 the Z did it in. Then again when you look up the price tag at $375,000 the Z becomes a very good bargain.

I'll believe it when I see it.  Cool car but it's not gonna be priced near the Boss.  I'd say $65k which is fully loaded GT500 territory.

I completely agree.   http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1087733_2014-chevrolet-camaro-z-28-is-the-real-track-focused-deal/page-2 according to motor authority it will be more expensive than a ZL1.  LS7's are expensive as it is but they go in depth about the new suspension set up which is really cool and priceyyyy

The LFA everyone compares to that is "faster" is the factory race version.

Thats like saying the COPO camaro is faster than a viper... it came from the factory that way...

Lexus conducted test. Video confirmed. Stock LFA with "Nürburgring Package". OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE070 street tires. Additional Roll Cage was equipped, You can buy this one for $445,000 but only 50 of these were made. Also there are 3 Corvettes in the top 25 with the best time of 7:19.63.

Neat, but where are the cool, fun cars to get the next generation of buyers on the road? The FR-S and WRX seem to be about it as far as good affordable performance these days. Sorry, but to me a 3800lb car with no AC or radio for $60,000 is just silly.

On the flip side,I think it would have been cool to see the z/28 come to life as a handling-focused Camaro (maybe lose the back seat and some other stuff, but not the radio and AC) with the base corvette engine, a six speed, some of the suspension goodies, modest wing/flares and a price around $35-40. This "gotta be fastest" mentality is silly -- no one can use anything close to that power on the roads.

It's a TRACK CAR!  Yes - it will be "street legal" but anyone who buys a new z28 to go to Wal-Mart is just not paying attention.

If you want a FAST Camaro with all the comforts of modern cars get a ZL1.  If you want a race car - get a z28.

While I'm certain that I will NEVER own one of these high-end cars I love that they are produced because the technology inevitably trickles down into cars I can afford.  My V6 Camaro can't hold a candle to these monsters but it's an amazing car in it's own right with some terrific technology.
