GXPaycheck
HOLIDAY LAPS UPDATE! October 25, 2013 It is with deep regret that we inform you VIR has to cancel our annual Holiday Laps Fundraiser benefitting the Salvation Army. The cancellation comes due to unforeseen and necessary scheduling changes involving facility improvements, which ultimately prohibit any access to the track during the planned event timeframe. We continue to be huge supporters of the Salvation Army and its honorable mission, and we look forward to hosting Holiday Laps again in future years. Until then, please consider supporting this amazing organization through the on-air radio auctions on WAKG and WBTM on December 5, 2013 or through other forms of donations. Address your gifts to Danville, VA Salvation Army at 123 Henry St. Danville,VA 24540. As part of the fundraiser, the organization will be auctioning off a variety of exciting racing packages and experiences at VIR with all proceeds benefitting the Salvation Army and their Christmas Bucks for Kids campaign. We hope to see you for the planned return of Holiday Laps next year! VIRginia International Raceway

Rich
Yeah. That's happening to a lot of shows this year. Kerbeck's in New Jersey cancelled their annual Toys For Tots Show this year too. Economics I guess.
GXPaycheck
They should have the track open later in November. Interested in seeing how they've changed it. More charity laps to come in the spring! Hope I'm off those days.
THE Mook
If they are closing it this close to the Event, my feeling is the construction that needs to happen involves potential safety issues. Maybe when they get back up, they can work something else out.
