airhog
I was just wondering if it is true that touchless car washes use stronger soaps than the wand wash car washes? Do car washes of any type use just plain city water or do they filter it?
0 estecoca
I dont know about the strength of the soaps, but I do know that many carwashes in the southwest recycle their water. ugh! I have asked the owners/operators of about a dozen wand washes in NM, AZ, CA if they recycle their water and they reluctantly confirm that many places do this. that means that you may be blasting your car with dirt whih was not properly filtered...caveat emtpor
0 Nitelord
I believe in PA, they are required to recycle the water. It may also be filtered, but I don't know that for a fact.
0 ss-truck
Recycling the was water is kind of like dropping your wash mitt on the ground , picking it up and continuing to wash your car .
0 Nitelord
That's why I almost have to think the water is filtered during the recycle process.. But IDK.
0 jjwvette
Let's hope they use clean not recycled water
0 airhog
Would they be allowed to use dirty water? If they can people would become mad.
0 ozzy
How Car Washes Work This does not apply to all car washes that recycle water, but it is good to know To cut down on the amount of water used, a lot of car washes recycle water. The recycled water is normally used in the early rinses and to mix with the detergents. It may also be used in the high-pressure washer. It should never be used in the final rinse. 0 mikelebo
I worked for a chain of car washes in PA , back in 1992, and they used all recycled water. NOT filtered. It was not a good thing, however it kept costs down.
0 Junkman2008
Hell, recycled water is fine for your daily driver or any car that you are willing to take through a drive through car wash. If you are taking a car through a drive through, then the last thing you have to worry about is recycled water. Try looking at the damage that those 2000 grit rags do when they use them to dry off your car. I shudder at the thought.
