Killer job Frank!  If you get a chance, PM me if your paint meter is sitting on a DD towel...I'm interested in those. 

Don't be: the towels are worthless.  They linted up so badly after just a few uses.  The only thing I use them for now is how you see it in this write-up: a glorified coaster.

 

nice work! how bad was the paint after you washed it?

Thanks!  The paint wasn't too horrible - hence no pictures.  The piano black A-pillars were chopped up pretty badly, but I forgot to take pictures.  :(

I hear that paint can be tricky.  Not having polished one myself...your thoughts?

 

No issues that I can think of - there is a warning sticker under the hood warning of a hard clear coat and to use only approved refinishing materials...it wasn't and I didn't.

Nice clean up, I love those beasts.  The jet black can be a pain, but besides that the other finishes haven't bothered me after doing about 5 of them.  Have one scheduled in the spring for a correction I can wait to get a ride in from the owner, a built R1K Switzer package!
