Bucco
I have a new Toyota that has seats made of a synthetic leather they call SofTex. It is quite different from traditional vinyl. It is made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Does anyone have experience with cleaning SofTex?
0 Baron_Von_Awesome
Nothing special about it - TID or diluted APC 10:1 will take care of it just fine. Ricky Bobby
0 Ricky Bobby
Clean them just like you would clean your dash. Total interior wipe down, or interior cleaner first if you got some major grime. Toyota is actually using the V-tex in lieu of leather because it's more durable and looks better after miles and miles of use, whereas the leather will crease and show "butt wrinkles" etc no matter how often you condition it. At 50-60k (lease trade in time) Toyota wants to be able to flip the cars and have the interior still look attractive to the 2nd buyer. Look out for Vtex on Lexus models soon too, per one of my best friends who is lead master tech at a local Lexus dealership.
