mikesae
Pic attached. The screen's matte black plastic bezel is now mottled after wiping with Total Interior Detailer. I've tried wiping it off with water, didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks Mike Edited May 16, 2014 by mikesae
0 SYMAWD
Just clean it off with LIC or diluted APC. I never have good luck with TID on smooth plastics.
0 Adam
Hi Mike- Sorry for the issue! Typically, if your interior finish is cleaned first, the product won't splotch. However, on a few finishes, it can happen. As Matt said, using a cleaner to remove everything can get you great results with the Total Interior Detailer. Thanks! 0 mikesae
Thanks, I tried removing the mottling with Leather and Interior Cleaner. It's better, but not 100%. Will try full strength all Purpose cleaner tomorrow. If no joy I'm tempted to try the Leather Conditioner to get the even satin finish back... BTW, car is a Ford Focus. 0 Adam
That's strange Mike, and I'd try the Leather Conditioner before using the APC full strength. Too much chemical for that cool car!
0 mikesae
No luck with the Leather Conditioner, unfortunately. The bezel is darker, but the splotching is still there especially if the light hits it right. I'll try a 50/50 mix of All Purpose cleaner next... 0 Ordie
I dont remember that happening on my Bezel.. and I have the same car.
0 eric@thompsonracing.us
Definitely sounds like there was residual product, stain, etc. on the plastic prior to useing the TID. The TID is simply enhancing the old stuff.
0 Adam
Hmmm, that's odd Mike, and I can barely see the issue here. Can you further describe where in the photo the problem area is? Let's get you happy! Thanks,
0 Garsnow
I cant see the issue here either. TID is probably the mildest product I own and have never experienced a problem before and I use it on every surface in our cars. Hope you get your problem rectifed
