Fphillips
I have this to detail this weekend. I have never done one before. What is a good plan of attack? Thanks in advance. Edited June 4, 2014 by Fphillips
0 Kingsford
Boar Hair Brush for tight spots around the engine. If its not TOO dirty clean it up with Rinseless Wash or Waterless Wash. If it is really dirty you could use a Boar Hair Brush (thats clean) and dip it into your bucket of soap and get the tight spots. Only use the brush if you are polishing it, if you are polishing it you'll be taking out the fine scratches from the brush. The Rinseless or Waterless will be your best bet though. Plan to have a ton of dirty towels Be patient, there's a ton of tight spots to get into. Lots of metal polish. You'd think a bike would take a lot less time to do than a full car detail but it can easily take just as long. I did a matte black Harley last year and I spent 8 hours on it and I didn't polish it since it was matte. 0 Ricky Bobby
I have near zero chrome on my bike, so its not bad. I have matte black wheels and pretty much black painted/powdercoated everything else (Triumph thunderbird Storm). For maintenance cleanings its strictly Rinseless 1:16 and Detail Spray wipedowns, I only give it a hose wash if I ride through filthy weather for the day. Clay/polish/seal the painted parts, EZ detail brush/wheel woolies on the engine area parts and tight spots. Blow drying especially on engine. Obviously leave the SVRT at home for this one . You can do some In & Out on the throttle/brake cables though. Looks like you're gonna need a decent amount of metal polish.
