First machine detail for my camaro ss

BTBSS

Question

So tomorrow marks the first full correction for the camaro SS that I bought when I traded in my trailblazer SS back on 3/31/14. It's a 2012 and only had 4k miles on it when I bought it. It's my DD and now has 7,600 miles on it. My trailblazer took me a good 6hrs to do hopefully the camaro is less time. I have the flat black hood stripes so that's less paint I have to worry about.

Any tips for this that have done a camaro before. I know one of the tricks is to apply SVRT to the vinyl so the wax or polish doesn't stick to it if it gets past the tape but when I did that and tried to apply the Adams masking tape the tape would not stick. So I'm thinking about not applying SVRT.

Any suggestions

Thanks

Took me 11.5hrs. Wash with dawns two bucket wash. The leaf blow dry followed with DS an waffle towel. Then Adams clay bar( the old one before they made their own) man it needed it.

Taped off the vinyl hood stripes an applied the SVRT to the trim for the grill an rear bumper. Then went at it with Adams orange polish. Followed up wit white( fine polish). Next was MSS

Then was Americana. Topped the stripes with SVRT. Tires with the same . Wheel wells with under carriage spray. In and out spray for the lower grill and rear bumper. Also used the two step polishing on the rims by hand followed with MSS. Will post a pic in daylight

Is 11..5 hours normal for the amount of work I did?

Yea the dawn would dry out the rubber but since it had SVRT on before I wasn't worried about drying it out with one wash of dawn. After the car was dry SVRT went back on all the rubber and plastic trim

Just seems like the older I get the longer it takes or maybe I'm just wiser now and more of a perfectionist to try and achieve the best results.
