landshark
I just bought a Griot's Garage's DA 6" polisher. I'm wondering what else do I need beside Adam's paint correcting & finishing polish? Could I also use Adam's 4" pads on this machine too? Thanks in advance!
0 camaro2ssblack
Pads, polishes and pad cleaning brush and you are good to go. The 4" pads can be used on the GG6 with the correct backing plate.
0 Gen9Rolla
You would need pads big enough for the 6" backing plate. You could use the 4" pads if you buy a small enough backing plate for it. I forget the exact size but I'm sure someone will chime in soon enough.
0 mc2hill
Try starting with Adam's Starter 7" Machine Polishing Kit - http://www.adamspoli...ishing-kit.aspx. Add a 2nd Microfiber Cutting pad (or ask them to swap out the Microfiber finishing pad in the kit), a 2nd foam Cutting pad, and a 2nd foam Finishing pad and you are ready to polish. If you want to apply Liquid Paint Sealant by machine then add a black foam pad. Now if you can take a week or so to do the correction, you can skip the 2nd set of pads. You will just need to wash them about 1/2 way through the detail, and the white pad takes a couple of day to dry. Add the 4" Focus pad kit and a 4" machine backing plate to help with the smaller/tighter areas.
0 landshark
Thanks for all the info! You guys are great! I'll be placing my order soon. Gonna use it for polishing, sealing, and waxing, instead of what I've been doing, all done by hand. BTW, I saw the video they recommended using speed of 2 for putting on the sealant/wax on using PC, is it the same speed for my GG 6" too? And what speed should I use for polishing? 5? Thanks again for all your help.
0 Ricky Bobby
Depends what type of pad you are polishing with, if MF cutting pad it actually does better at a 3-4 with very slow pad rotation as opposed to speed 5 with a ton of pad rotation. Foam polishing pads you probably would be at highest 5. The GG6 has so much power I find I rarely ever need to use speed 6. With the stock backing plate on the machine you can use any of Adam's 7" pads. I would pick up a 3.5" Lake Country BP for the GG6 and then you can use the 4" pads for smaller areas. 13dgmwrx
0 mc2hill
BTW, I saw the video they recommended using speed of 2 for putting on the sealant/wax on using PC, Yes, speed 2 should be fine on the GG for applying the sealant. You just want a thin, uniform coating for the best results.
0 landshark
Thanks again guys! Just received the Father's Day coupon via email, that should seal the deal. Basic 7" foam pads polish kit, 7" seal/wax pad, 7" glaze pad, and gonna give the new Tire Shine a try too.
0 13dgmwrx
I found with the orange/white foam pads, the Griots worked well on 5. Some finishes may only need 4 for polishing. I love mine already. Very nice to use. Ricky Bobby

Very nice to use. It really is a phenomenal machine for the money with a lifetime warranty as well should it ever break. I love mine and use it solely for 5" and 6" backing plate/pad duty, my 10 year old PC 7424 has a 3.5" backing plate and is dedicated for 4" pads now. 13dgmwrx
