Lighting

compudiva

Question

So, this is the second time using the PC.  I basically got by with just the finishing polish.  But I feel like the first time I got better results.  Perhaps the heat and humidity got to me this go around.  The lighting in the garage is definitely not great so I have a shop but it is a pain to have to move it around - I will probably get a second one.  But if want additional lighting in the garage, what would be the best type of lighting to get?

I got home this evening and pulled the car out of the garage thinking that the lighting would be better and I could perhaps see any scratches I may have missed.  I had also tape off some areas that I needed to hit with the 4" pads but outside I could not see any of the scratches.  Seems as though the shop light really brings out the scratches.  Is this normal?

Best kind of lighting with money not mattering.... LED Fluorescent Replacements, a bunch of them put them on the sides of the vehicle on the ceiling about 1-2 foot where the vehicle is parked. At least 1 on each side, front, back. Get an LED flashlight too, helps see the scratches up close.

I have about a dozen 2 bulb t8's and 24 or so spot lights,if my paint looks good in the garage it will look good outside......Sorry for the cell pics, but I took these last night playing around with the pano on my phone....its pretty bright. If I had the led's I would probably only need half of the lights.

T5'S are an option too they are much brighter than my t8's.

This is what I've been using. 15w Par 30 single diode daytime led. It works great. Halogen lights put to much heat off in the summer in the garage. I just use a light clamp that can handle the wattage of the light. That way I can move it anywhere. post-10580-0-20917600-1404001751_thumb.jpgpost-10580-0-14151700-1404001851_thumb.jpgpost-10580-0-54520000-1404001942_thumb.jpg
