Bluezey
Quote Dodge just announced that the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat will deliver 707 hp, in addition to 650 lb-ft of torque. Let us repeat. 707 horsepower. That's more than the last Corvette ZR1. More than the new Corvette Z06. Did we mention that's more than the Viper's V10? From Autoweek. Rich
Been reading about that all day. Sounds impressive, but till they finalize it and run the track a few times, we'll just have to speculate. I guess Corvette will be coming out with a C7 ZR1 now for sure.
DaveVY
It will be interesting to see what changes they make to the suspension. That much power without significant suspension changes will just be a recipe for disaster. Will be interesting to see how the competition reacts. redneck08sierra
HP #'s are impressive but Dodge will probably stick a 295 tire on it...no traction. Do they make a 350, ha?!? At least Chevy got it right with the z28 Camaro of making the car around the 305 tires
JHL88
Im also certain this will be a heavier car than its SRT8 counterpart. Rich

ZR1. the c7 z06 I think is around 650hp. the c7 zr1 has been speculated to have 750+hp, whenever it does come out which I thought motortrend said sometime in 2015 editing...just read an article that the c7 zr1 may never be...I don't know. Too much news to retain!! Edited July 3, 2014 by redneck08sierra
JHL88
As of right now they are not making a c7 r1. Its been said for a while now.
OUT2WIN
I think they should put the car on a diet instead of throwing more horsepower at it. Sure I'm all for the horsepower wars between the muscle car brands but 4400+ lbs seems like its getting closer to weighing the same as my regular cab full size truck. Marylander
^^ Yea, this is all just getting silly, in my opinion. Rich
Redbeard
The Challenger is supposed to switch to a smaller platform in the next couple of years (and possibly become the Barracuda), so maybe this is a big sendoff to this model. The other question is how long will Dodge let the Challenger have more hp than Viper? I had read where Ralph Gilles indicated there was more power to be had from the V10, but they were pressured by their FIAT overlords to hold back in deference to Ferrari. But now that the gauntlet has been thrown down, will the Viper get 750 or more? I hope they keep it true to its roots (NA) instead of adding forced induction just for a pumped-up stat sheet. Talking to Tadge Juechter at Carlisle when the C7's were introduced and he told me then that there wouldn't be a Z06 or ZR1. Well.....................
