In and Out Spray--What did I do wrong?

Texas Moe

Used the In and Out Spray for the first time last week and got some blotches on the front grill and plastic trim.  Just wondering if this is overspray or some other operator error.  Also, is there any way to correct it?

Were the surfaces cleaned of any previously applied dressings? Could be a reaction with something there or a silicone dressing applied previously preventing it from sticking.

The other possibility is it was held too close to the surface when you sprayed. The propellant contains solvents (all aerosols do) that evaporate a few inches from the tip of the nozzle, but if you hold it close to a surface when spraying the solvent hits the surface before it can evap so you end up with what is essentially a cleaner removing the dressing.

Thanks for the feedback, car dudes.  It could be any or all of the suggestions you made.  I probably was holding the can close to the trim so as not to get it on anything else.

Based on what y'all said, though, it's probably an interaction between the In & Out Spray and Quick Sealant.  I was experimenting a few weeks ago with different parts of the exterior that could work with the QS.  If that's the case, I have two questions:

1) How should I have removed any previous dressings before using the I&O spray?

2) Can I now do whatever is the answer to my first question and just start over?

Thanks again!
