Black ink removal help?

08Shelby GT/SC

Question

Need your Expertise! I inadvertently got black ink from a skilcraft ball point pen on the drivers door panels of my wife's 2012 Sequoia and my 2001 F250. I used isopropyl alcohol on the sequoia leather and it came right off. But the plastic/rubber arm rest in my F250 is being much more stubborn. The IPA did not work. I've tried the magic eraser, lexol cleaner, nail polish remover, tennis shoe cleaner, and cheap hair spray, but it is still there, albeit not as "black". I do have the Adams all purpose cleaner and the leather cleaner that I just received and will try those tonight after work.

Any ideas on how to get the ink out? Thanks!

If the APC doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.  I've always used hair spray for ink stains.  I asked the wife and she said to try peanut butter.....smear a little bit on and let it sit, then wipe it off.  Does it work?  I don't know, but probably can't hurt and won't dry it out.  But be sure to treat everything that you've cleaned with the Leather Conditioner afterwards because all of those products will dry your leather out.

Just did a quick Google search for  you and several people suggest using Chap Stick.  Put it on, let it sit a few days, and it's supposed to draw the ink out.  Guess if nothing else works it's worth a try.
