BrianT
I want to take my twin 7yr olds out in the Firebird, but I'm not sure what's the safest way to do this.
b_pappy
Well, I just used to toss the kid in the back seat and tell him him "Don't worry. If I hit anything I'll grab your ankles as you're going through the windshield." Luckily we never had to test that. Anyhow, I assume you have lap belts only. Thread them through the lower restraint. Check local larws, here in California that probably wouldn't meet the requirements.
mc2hill
You may want to consider a seat protector so they don't 'dent' the seats.
Rich
7 year olds are big enough for booster seats instead of car seats. But they still have to be in the back seat. I just got a booster for my granddaughter. Costs around $30, just sits on the seat and you put the seat belt across the seat. Simple. If you have a car that doesn't have a back seat like mine, kids can go in the front seat in their booster, but the air bag has to be disengaged. 2008fx4
i removed the rear seat back and fabbed up an anchor point that would sit right above the seat back so that my kid's car seats could be attached safely. if you look in front of the tweeter on the bottom of this picture you can see the top of the bracket.
