Maybe this will help you. Task Force Tips in Indiana makes Dual Gallonage Nozzles along with places like Elkhart Brass and Akron.

Basically it gives you two GPMs when twisting. Kind of hard to explain if I'm not there (I'm a hands on teacher).

I'm not sure mine works correctly...for starters it will not turn the water off completely. And it sprays at a slight angle. Looking from the front, the "valve and seat" are not concentric. Dealer says this is common. Not so sure that is acceptable. :)

 

As I twist the nozzle from closed (but leaking! :D) to full on it goes from shower mode, to stream, to a more distant stream. Presumably the later is the higher "gallonage" position?
