ExpressThis13
Ok so I am avid user of Adams and have been for years with a purchase of tire shine earlier this year I was hopefull. After many different attempts on my truck I am not happy with this product at all and that is a first Ive loved everything from Adams thus far. So I have a 13 Ram 1500 with goodyear tires sra maybe? I cant remember but it has verticle ridges all on the side wall making it hard to get shine into every crevise with out spraying directly into it which is what I did yesterday then I let it sit approx a half hour the knocked down and removed excess the a vrt block. took a drive to the store and back very minimal sling and I mean very minimal sling on the truck quick wipedown with the DS no worries. Tires were shiney wheels were shiney truck was shiney I was happy for my night events. Well after my nightly events which were approx 40 minutes away down the interstate I had to fill the truck up when I got back to my town and under the lights of the station I have such an excessive amount of sling its almost as if I sprayed the tires down and went for a drive right after with the shine dripping off the tires. My tires literallyh ave very little shine left on them it all slung off the truck. Tires were cleaned with all purpose as the have been in the past when Ive had this issue. I dont know if its the tires or my application method or what but I just spent a half hour in the hot sun with some ds and microfiber wiping off the sling from my wheels and paint. Now with my wheels being chrome or fhrome as some would call it (chrome clad) I like my tires to be shiney because it makes the chrome wheels stand out that much more IMO. I will be writing adams over the weekend about this because I have a gallon on the shelf and I am not going to use this stuff again. I dreaded using it again yesterday but I wanted to give it one more chance.
Antv20
I had trouble with sling on mine but I was using way too much product. How old are the tires? I would spray TS directly on to the block and spread on the tire. That's what I do with my Toyo AT2s. What product did you use before TS?
TheWolf
Can you post a pick of your tire? Sounds like it is pooling in the grooves, and the applicator wipe is missing it. I have had it run down the tire if I spray the little grooves, so I try to avoid spraying them directly. If you have a Masterblaster, you can blow the excess out then wipe again before driving. You could also knock the grooves down with a trim brush.
BRZN
Sorry you've had a less than stellar experience with the Tire Shine Eric. Post a picture of your tire. Forum members will have a better shot at helping you. On deeper lugged tires I'll use the Trim and Lug Brush to work the product into all the groves and tread blocks, I'll then wipe the tires down with a Foam Block Sponge. Any excessive product is going to sit where it's at until you drive, then it's going to sling. The Tire Shine doesn't soak into the tire like SVRT does. Often I'll even go back over the tire with an Edgeless Utility Towel to make sure I've knocked down any remaining excess-only drawback to this method is I also knock down a bit of the gloss. Contact Customer Service they'll take care of you if you want to return the product. Remember, Adam has a 110% money back guarantee.
Guest washemup
Here's a video I think will solve your issue, I don't use my Adams wheel/lugnut brush, I use a small paint brush. Did a wash/wax last week on a F150 with some of those big ole knobby tires, saw the guy yesterday, tires still look great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5rQFQWXUoI

I think the statement in bold is the most overlooked reason why there is customer error on the Tire Shine product. You can't expect it to soak in like a water based lotion/cream for your tires, when there is silicone in the product. BRZN
zw470
I've had great results using Tire Shine with the pro-tire hex-grip applicator. Starting with dry tires that have been scrubbed with a stiff brush and Adam's APC, I "prime" the applicator with 3 or 4 sprays of Tire Shine and do the first tire. For each following tire I add 1 more spray of Tire Shine to the applicator. Once all 4 are finished I move the car so the bottom of the tire is now at the top, then go back to the 1-spray per tire routine. Gets in all the nooks and crannies with no excess to sling off. Slung off the tire and left it bare.
