2012CC6.2
Another detailer in my home town, I won't mention the business name or owners name rubbed me the wrong way via my friend. He basically talked down on me, and my Adams products by saying " I can't afford those products he uses, they are just re bottled Meguiars products anyway." I would love to go to the guy and explain to him that Adams has a TEAM of developers and they would never, nor do they have to steal products from any other company. He has a extremely nice shop, 3 bays, whole nine yards. He does quality work, I won't say he doesnt. But to throw that label on something I use, just really pisses me off. But while I'm covered up with business he seems to struggle to find enough to supports his 200k shop. The guy that built his shop is my main customer. Sorry for the venting here, just really bothered me! TEAM ADAMS!

2012CC6.2
It's honestly partly my fault. When he first open I scoped him out as me being a customer. I get stacked up, and want to send someone to a reputable shop if I can't fit them in my schedule. I planned on telling him at the end of my visit who I was and what I do. But he started talking crap about the guy that built his shop (my best friend) so I figured I'd keep my mouth shut. Ever since then, guy has disliked me. I don't mind someone not liking me, and I approached it the wrong way entirely. But I do quality work, I don't expect someone to bash my product. I ALWAYS tell the people I can't fit in about him, and that he does good work. 99% of the time they go talk to him and never use him because of his attitude. So I am partly to blame, but do not bash me or the products I use.
2012CC6.2
One thing I have seen first hand, is that you always either keep your mouth shut about other businesses in your home town. Wether you like them or not you just don't bad mouth anyone in a town of 35000 people. It just doesn't work out like that. I always recommend people to area businesses, it's how you build a community.
Marylander
It's just the difference between good character and bad character. Good pays dividends in the long run. Bad just makes for an unhappy, angry life. People reap what they sow. Rich
CMDChase
As soon as you start putting down a competitor, you start putting down your own business as well. The customers will determine who provides rhe best service anyway.
2012CC6.2
Like I said I blame myself partly. I shouldn't have gone in as hey I'm a customer. I should have said hey, I also own a Detail shop that offers the same services as yours. I just wanted to know the guy isn't going to blow smoke up someones, insert word, if I sent them to him. rkj4243
If he is only "talking down" to you, be the bigger person, and LET IT GO. By this I mean, pay no attention to it, or don't get too upset. That way he sees his actions don't impact you, and may stop. Think of a young child misbehaving, all they really want is attention, no matter how they go about getting it. The customers will make the choice, by deciding who does the highest quality, best looking details, as it comes down to the customer spending their hard earned money to make their vehicles look great, with a durable, long lasting shine. Guest washemup
If someone bashes Adams, or any product without using it first, this is a person who will never improve his detailing ability. While I like and use lots of Adams products, I have found some other's that are more cost effective, but might not work as well in certain situations. I cannot bash another company's product until I've compared it to what I use, and it ends up being inferior. One of the smartest individuals I've ever met told me, "Once you know everything there is to know about doing something, you become the dumbest person in the world on the subject, because you can never learn anything new." Rich
Pick your friends wisely grasshopper. He can talk all he wants. Keep your ride looking great and others will notice the difference. You'll get more converts with honey than with vinegar.
