Question

Posted

Spring is finally here!!!   Nice warm day Thursday and I spent it giving my wife's car a much needed cleaning.

My foam cannon seemed to not work as well as usual. :(  I was wondering if anyone took one apart and cleaned the internals or a needed O-ring or such? Foam was more watery than usual and same soap content...

Thanks in advance for your help.

I haven't but I have wondered how easy they are to work on. I have made it a good habit of rinsing it out after each use.

Jason nailed it.

There is a very slight possibility you may be to take it apart to clean. (But I'd be surprised if Jason's suggestion doesn't solve the issue.) Google and you'll find detailed posts with photos on how to do this.

^thanks man.

For what it's worth my Ryobi and foam cannon also do double duty in power washing my house, so I'm frequently running water and apc through it (I use cheap simple green to foam up the house) and then rinsing well and it's back on the shelf for Car Shampoo use.

Pulled it apart per youtube instructions and the "metal mesh" was totally gummed up with soap scum. I have it soaking in APC and expect whipped cream my next wash...

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for the update. Good to know you found the problem. Extremely common. Too bad the mesh isn't a little easier to access.
