ragin_cajuns
So now that I am washing my truck and wife's SUV more I realize what a POS my hose, nosel and hose reel is. The hose kinks up too much, the nosel leaks and the hose reel is a cheap plastic POS. What set up is everyone using or recommend? Thanks,
0 chops1sc
I recently installed a Strongway hose reel. Very sturdy. I am using a Craftsman 75' black rubber hose and thumb-lever Gilmour nozzle. flyboy9994
0 ragin_cajuns
I like that reel but where my faucet is in my driveway I can't install a reel like that mounted to the brick. I mean I could but it would look very odd how my driveway is situated.
0 chops1sc
You can mount it like mine or turned sideways like this: Would that work? They also offer them on carts.
0 ragin_cajuns
no can't mount to the wall. has to be something on the driveway like my cheap plastic one from Lowe's that breaks every other year.
0 Dan@Adams
I have a Parker 50 foot and 25 foot hose linked together, very nice quality. Right now I just roll up the hose and lay it inside the detached garage or under the steps of my deck, but I might eventually get some type of reel setup. As for the hose nozzle, I use the Foam Gun nozzle attachment, or sometimes I will use an old firehose nozzle attachment that we used to offer. It would be really cool if those came back some day
0 chops1sc
Here's one of their carts, http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200640138_200640138 They aren't cheap but they are well built!
0 mc2hill
I have a Goodyear rubber hose (50 ft. + 25 ft together), and Craftsman rubber hoses with the same setup. From what I have read Goodyear makes the Craftsman rubber hose. I have had them over 5 years and they are working fine. Disclaimer: We don't much cold weather. so I don't know how they work in the cold. I leave them outside all the time.

Hey Chris How is it holding up mounted to the brick? I need to attach mine to a brick wall also. Could you explain how you mounted yours? Thanks. 0 chops1sc
I drilled into the brick and used lag screw sleeves and galvanized lag screws to secure the bracket to the wall. It is VERY sturdy and should stay on the wall for a long time, lol!
0 flyboy9994
OK great. Do you remember what kind of lag screw sleeves? Are they plastic or metal? Were you able to use a regular drill with a masonary drill bit? Just don't want to mess up the brick on my new house! Thanks again.

0 chops1sc
They are metal They even tell you what size drill bit to use. I recommend a corded drill.
0 chops1sc
Now, the size I used called for a 1/2" hole and the lag screws are 5/16" iirc
0 marquez93
I use the craftsman rubber hoses also and I think mine are around 11 years old and still no issues.
