Another great OC Cruise In

So the wife and I spent the weekend in Ocean City, Md at Cruisin' OC. This is the 26th year, and I think we've been to 21 of them at least.  3000 registered cars, all pre 1976, and thousands more owned and driven by spectators.  Every morning, the cars parade down the boardwalk then park at either the inlet or the Convention Center to show them off.  Friday morning's parade was over 2 hours long.  We had a great room, oceanfront on the boardwalk and a short walk to the inlet. Thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

My first car in1969 was just like this one with black interior. Bought it new, just out of the Navy.

If you've never been to this show and have a chance, it's worth the trip.  Looking forward to next year.

Go ahead Rich, kick a guy when he is down!

Thought weather was going to be a problem again and didn't make it this time.  Hoping for Endless Summer in October.  Need my Thrasher's fix.

Which hotel?  We usually grab the Quallity Inn boardwalk when we can get a club rate.

I agree though if anyone makes this show make sure to get a boardwalk hotel.

Was it Thursday the 50 chase closed down Coastal Highway?

Sadly I missed it this year because so many of my friends went down for it that it left another friend of my fiance's without any one to help him run the 8.50 index at Englishtown this past weekend.

Hopefully I can make up for it with the Fall cruise in October.

We were in the Comfort Inn Boardwalk on 5th St.  Nice hotel, free breakfast, and CLEAN!  If you're referring to the accident, that was on Thursday. There was NO police chase.  A security guy saw the kid do a wheelie and was behind him, and the kid took off.  The guard didn't chase him.  The kid would speed up a couple blocks, do a u turn and repeat.  Around 28th St, he spied a police car coming down behind him, no lights, and did a u-turn, hit the gas to around 100 mph and slammed right into a Ford F350.  He died instantly.  Such a shame.  Then Saturday night, someone fell from the 8th floor of the Grand Hotel on 21st.   Two lives lost for nothing.
