Howdy from TX!

New to Adam's products and started properly washing my car in September 2016! Looking forward to learning new things!

So far, I've got the Exterior 6-Pack and Glass Cleaner, Sealant combo and just recently added the Interior Detailer to my arsenal. Haven't had a chance to try out the Revive Hand Polish since I don't have the proper applicator pad for it. Has anyone had any success with it?

Anyways, I hope to learn as much as I can from the experts here!

Ben

My vehicle: 2015 Nissan Versa Note SR in Red

Condition: Light swirls from previous owner (hopefully) but near perfect interior thanks to my new Interior Detailer!

Welcome Ben!

Revive can be used with a foam hex grip applicator or one of the MF applicators (or even with a MF towel).  It may help a little with the little swirls.  It also works great as a paint cleaner.

Should it be applied in a circular motion to mimic a machine? Or straight lines for a safer application?

Thank you!

It does not really matter as long as you are using a non-marring applicator (e.g. the hex grip or MF applicator, or Adam's MF towel).

Good luck!

I had the flu last week and missed out on some great detailing weather. Maybe this weekend.

Bummer, hope you're feeling better!

Whatever you do...stay away from the Memorial City area and downtown this weekend! Gonna be a zoo out there.

Welcome to the forums, I know Rich uses Revive and polishes by hand with great results.

Thank you!

I tested a few spots today and it seems that it works great it lightly swirled areas but where there is more damage, it may require compounding.

My goal is not leave my little corner of the bubble I already exist in up here in The Woodlands. I work on the west side of town (BW8/Westheimer) and can kind of already feeling it getting busier over there.

I don't blame you...it will all be over soon enough though!

Hey you work pretty close to where I am, BW8/Memorial! That's one heck of a drive to work!

If you're ever in the area, there's a shop over off Brittmoore (runs parallel  and W of BW8, N of 10) that has a small retail section in the front of their place (and a nice Supra centerpiece). They carry mostly CG and Meg's pro stuff from what I remember. Remtech Detailing I believe.

Any shops up by you worth checking out?

They're the only shop in town thats worth checking out.

Adam's Dealer in Houston is moving closing to the galleria, so that will now be a better option if you're in a pinch. they were previously located out in Alief at like Dairy Ashford and the Westpark.

The drive isn't too bad. I live on the west end of The Woodlands, so I take 249 down to the beltway. About 40 min in the morning and 50 in the evening.

Vive Auto Detailing? From their website it doesn't mention their retail section at all. Do they have a pretty good selection and price? Or is it just for "in a pinch" type things like you said?

That's not a horrible commute. At least you have a place to do a proper wash! I live in a high rise so it's just sketchy runs to the coin wash for me :(

Would you happen to know of any coin washes that are bucket friendly? The ones I've tried have signs up to discourage it :(

Correct. I've never been, but they have a facebook page "Adams Polishes Houston" or something. My driveway isn't bad for early-mid morning, or about the last 1.5 hours of daylight. I wish I had a more shaded area.

I don't know of many coin washes period in the area. I've tried looking around the office for a coin wash and have never been able to find one. They discourage it for sure, but if you hustle through the bay, your probably not taking as much time as someone who doesn't use a bucket. Hit it during dead times. Surprised your high-rise doesnt have a wash area in the garage somewhere.

If I were going to use a pay & spray, I'd probably follow what Adam does in his winter washing video. The actual washing of the car doesn't take too long for me. Its the wheels, drying, and details :)

I found the FB page you mentioned. It seems weird that they would keep that separate from their website...hard to see what they carry! I'm assuming all the pictures they post saying "NOW IN STOCK" are all that they carry.

My next place to try out is Hammerly and BW8. There's a coin wash just east of the beltway about a half mile. I don't hang around too long at the coin-op wash! In fact, I left in such a rush last time that I left my wheel cleaner and brushes there! :( Hoping my mystery box that comes in today has a brush or two in it! Haha I like that, "pay and spray"!

It's an older building on a fairly small lot. Also, it's filled with tons of old people so there isn't really a demand for a dedicated wash area. If there was, I'm sure I'd be taking all their money! :)

I'm just happy that my waffle weave towel cuts down my drying time significantly! Wheels do take a while, do you think waterless wash would work on slightly dirty wheels? Or what about using a wheel cleaner but rinsing with maybe a spray bottle with water?

If I find a good coin-op wash in the area I will let you know!
