Texas Moe
I've got to replace the trim on two windows on my wife's 10-year-old car. Problem is dealer is quoting $225 per window, which seems high to me. Wondering if there is a cheaper way to get this done. All I need to replace on each window is the trim piece at the bottom of the window where the glass comes out.
neontrucks
Check for aftermarket, a 10year old vehicle the aftermarket should have something. A quality body shop will also be able to help you. I'm pretty sure the technical term is belt moulding jessewsmith
Dan@Adams
Can you post any pictures of what the trim looks like currently? Is it plastic trim or rubber trim? If it's not able to be restored, some people may bash it, but black Plastidip can work wonders for a $7 can. SumBeach35 and Captain Slow
DREWBUSH
Assume the price from the dealer is the price of the part and labor? So the labor rate is probably in the mid $125 an hour range, plus the part. So they probably are quoting just over an hour per door to do it. It also depends if the seal is just a press fit on the lip of the door, or is it secured from the inside with retaining screws.
