Choppa
Hi all, I recently did some custom painting in my engine bay and was curious about cleaning. Will the general purpose cleaner affect the painted items? Can I dilute? The paint is all automotive grade and fully cured, just curious before I do it, Thanks !! 0 Beemer
Adam's APC will be fine. You can delute if you want. It will cut the grease very well. Just make sure the engine is cool and don't let it dry on the painted surfaces. For light cleaning I would suggest Waterless Wash instead. 0 Nathan
Just to add my 2 cents, compressed air works great for drying engine bays! Dan@Adams and Choppa
0 Dan@Adams
Roger and Nathan both got it spot on with their posts! I do like to thoroughly rinse APC from the engine bay with a light stream from the garden hose and then dry with the Blaster Sidekick! 0 vobro
Why not just use Car Shampoo? That engine isn't that dirty Choppa and LT1xL82
0 LT1xL82
Why not just use Car Shampoo? That engine isn't that dirty Car Shampoo, Rinseless, Waterless...something less aggressive than APC should work fine. Choppa
0 mc2hill
I will add another option - diluted Rinseless Wash (at wash ratio - 1 oz. to 2 gallons of water). Put this in a 1/2 gallon pump-up garden sprayer, and spray that over the engine. Wipe with a damp work MF towel, and dress with your favorite shine stuff. 0 Choppa
Thank you all for your information. My post wasn't for necessarily cleaning now, it was just in general so I know for the future. Thanks again.
