pirahnah3
For polishers, guys have owned PC's for years and not had problems, but I will say in comparison the SK is a great option to start with. Welcome to the forums and addiction! BrianT

BrianT
The PC will vibrate like a mofo compared to the SK! I have a PC and did multiple vehicles and once I switch to a Rupes 15 mm very very similar to the SK I couldn't believe how much better my body felt after a full detail. Wolverine
Sold is getting the 21 worth the expense vs the 15 and is the 15 easier to get into smaller places or about the same?

Welcome! I would definetely recommend getting the 15mm swirl killer first. If you want to add a second down the road, you would then want to get the SK mini. I have both and I absolutely love, and highly recommend. As BrianT said already, other polishers will vibrate much more than the SK, causing considerably more arm fatigue. The SK is a night and day difference, making for a much more pleasureable experience when polishing!! BrianT
shane@detailedreflections
Here’s a link to an article I wrote about selecting the proper size polisher that’s frequently referenced. The 15 is our most popular polisher. Then the mini and nano and lastly the 21. The 21 has its place, but not all the time and it’s hardly a universal polisher. falcaineer
Welcome to the addiction, Geoffrey! @shane@detailedreflections has you covered with his article as do the rest on their inputs. From my experience, I got with the PC as a lesser expensive option to get started, learned, and was getting great results. Yes, it vibrates, but without anything to compare it to, I couldn't really complain and just got used to it. Fast forward, and I recently picked up the 15mm SK. Haven't done a full detail with it yet, but it made pretty quick work on a bad scratch on a co-worker's car and the difference in vibration was definitely noticeable...this one's really smooth. Now my PC will become my 4" polisher until/unless I get a 12mm SK Mini (to do this, you change the backing plate and use the smaller 4" pads). I was at BJ, it could have been me...…..everyone including myself started with a PC. However the SK will correct faster and is way more comfortable to use.
