jstaples17 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 The title should be pretty straight forward. Can you? Should you? Besides the always electrical concerns if you do what else should you be watching for? thx, Jordan ObsessedDetailer 1

But I don’t see that there would be a problem as long as you covered any intakes and exposed electrical components
0 jstaples17 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 @ObsessedDetailer i would agree with that thought as well. I own a Hybrid so any more input on what to be careful of? @shane@detailedreflections do you have any helpful ideas or tips?
0 shane@detailedreflections Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I don’t think I’d foam the engine bay. Use an APC since it’s more degreaser and that’s what you want in there. We use that, a brush gently and a hose. That way we aren’t forcing water where it shouldn’t be. Engine bays take work to make them look their best. jstaples17 1
0 falcaineer Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Here are some videos and a forum article. Don't know that I'd foam it, either, for what it's worth. jstaples17 1
0 zw470 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) You really don't need to get nutty with your engine bay. I have 2 approaches, one for keeping a clean bay clean and one for getting a dirty bay clean. 1. Keep clean clean: Use Waterless Wash and an Edgeless, just spray and wipe. I chose to leave it naked (no dressings of any kind) when I had this car. 2. Make dirty clean: Use APC and a cheap microfiber you can throw away when you're done. Just to experiment I wiped this down with Interior Detailer once I got it cleaned. Edited October 11, 2018 by zw470 jstaples17 1
0 GXPaycheck Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I’ve done it with no ill effects. Just cover stuff you don’t want to get wet. Something like the IK sprayer would be best.
0 DanITD Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 (edited) +1 for APC. Use full strength, agitate, rinse, then blow dry to remove standing water. (Yes, VRT works really well on hoses) Raptor. Same process. Edited October 12, 2018 by DanITD Product name jstaples17 1
0 Rich Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Another reason not to use the foam is that when it sprays, it is a WIDE, uncontrollable spray. You could get it in places you don't want it. APC and VRT on the hoses, etc.
0 jstaples17 Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 I appreciate everyone's answers. It seems on social media that foaming your car including the engine bay is "The Thing" to do now and i was a bit skeptical.
0 07stanggt Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 " The Thing" to do now is why most people don't know how to take care of their car properly. They need to come over from the dark side to Adams !!
0 DanITD Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Heh heh heh.... dark side..... ....eyes roll as I order another MB.
