hemi1300
If one to were use rubbing alcohol or IPA for coating prep, what alcohol percentage works best? Will straight 91% IPA harm the paint or is 70/30 safer?
0 falcaineer
50/50 with 91% IPA works well. Captain Slow
0 mc2hill
I think most folks use Chris' recommendation of 50/50 dilution of 91% IPA. If you do some searching you will find lots of recommendations, but there is industry expert that does not recommend more than 20% IPA in the mixture. I have some mixed at 17% IPA to 83% water (probably 20% of 91% solution to make the math easier!). But I usually use Adam's Coating Prep, or another panel wipe product.
